Rajeev Jayaraman

Dr. Rajeev Jayaraman is the Sr. Director of FPGA Software Development at Microchip. In this role, Dr. Jayaraman leads the software development for all Microchip FPGAs. Dr. Jayaraman has over 25 years of experience in the field of FPGAs and FPGA software development. He started his career at Xilinx where he worked on the first FPGA development systems. He led all the FPGA implementation tools at Xilinx before moving to Tabula – an FPGA startup with an innovative technology where he led the software teams as well the applications and customer support teams. After Tabula, he took a short detour from FPGAs and joined Amazon Web Services in the Redshift and Aurora database services team, followed by another startup in the cloud database market before joining Microchip in 2018 to head up the FPGA software development team.  Dr. Jayaraman’s interests are in FPGAs, cloud computing, and related technologies. He is passionate about building teams and technical solutions that make a difference.

Dr. Jayaraman has been on the program committee member of several conferences such as Intl. Symposium on FPGAs, ICCAD, DAC and ICCD. Dr. Jayaraman is the recipient of Xilinx’ Ross Freeman Award –  the highest company award for technical innovation. He holds 8 patents. Dr. Jayaraman got his MS and PhD in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in the US and his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India
